Thanksgiving

This was the year that the Hibberts and the Maynes spent Thanksgiving with their other families so mom & dad came to my house for Thanksgiving dinner...it was awesome.

A little down time

On November 11, 2008 My dad, AKA Papa Pete, had knee replacement surgery (OUCH). While he was at my house for Thanksgiving I got him to let me snap some photos of his knee.

Northfork

Saturday (11/9/08) Dude, Me, Shilo, Jarica, Emmy, Dallin and the dogs went up to our property on Cedar Mountain to plant pasture seed before the weather gets too bad. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the time together. The kids fished in the creek and rode their motorcycles; we ran into a little bit of snow by Navajo where Dallin slid off the rode, he didn't get hurt in fact I think he thought it was cool.

The Fall Gather

October 30th Dude, Shilo, Jarica, Emmy, Dallin and family friend Brett went to the mountain to move the sheep, from where they spent the summer, back to town. I think the sheep were pretty excited to get back...you can see it in their faces.

The sheep are finally off the mountain and home for the winter!

The Livestock Festival

On October 25th tribute was paid to our livestock heritage here in The Festival City. It started with a parade of 'sheep camps', tractors and sheep herding down Main Street. The rest of the day was spent at the Cross Hollows Arena where there were all kinds of booths, display of sheep camps and a dutch oven cook-off, which my family participated in and took fourth place in two categories. Way to go family! Good job Kacie & Kendall for your dedication/hard work in organizing the Dutch Oven Cook-off event.

Fall & Deer Hunts

Another hunting season has come and gone. The Fall colors were exceptional this year and the weather phenomenal. One maybe two more weekend(s) to enjoy the greatness and then we'll look forward to Winter. While hunting and enjoying being with family on the mountain during the rifle deer hunt, news of the passing of Ed Larson (a very dear friend) was received with melancholy hearts. Ed passed away at his Three Creek Ranch Cabin on Sunday, Oct. 19th. Farewell Ed and thank you for your friendship.

Dude going to Mister J's

We took a little trip to Chicago; Dude served his mission there 20+ years ago. I can't believe it took us so long to go back. We had dinner @ Uno's with the Gnat's (a family Dude knew when he lived there). We shopped, ate at the famous Mister J's, Saw where Dude lived (South side), went to the Field Museum and got to see a Bears game (front row end zone seats)! It was awesome!
Colton turned 19 on our trip...Happy Birthday Colton!
